The Impossible Property
July 31, 2022Sometimes it is fun being a drone pilot and some of my adventures in Egypt, in very desolate places, prepare me for adventures closer to home. I don’t mind going places that are pretty remote. And so, I was hired to take some drone shots of some property about 150 miles away located pretty much in the badlands of Texas. First day I almost got there, past the rattle snake pits and a few of the worst roads I had ever been on. That part reminded me a little bit of the Sinai interior. And the heat also got a little unreasonable. But before I could get to the property the roads just ended being roads, or anything resembling a road. So, I went home and studied the satellite vies of the area and found several roads I thought would get me there. Day two, not as hot, completely prepared, except, well, gates, gates and more gates, all locked and no one was too interested in unlocking them. I have a hard time giving up on a job, but the client is going to have to find the owner and direct me in for me to try again.
